Katie is a double graduate from the University of Washington where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2016 and served as an athletic training intern with UW Athletics, working closely with Husky football, women's gymnastics, men's soccer, and the track & field teams. After working as an aide in a PT clinic and volunteering at several area hospitals, Katie returned to UW, and graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2020.
While in her program, she served her class as a member of the executive board, and served her community by organizing the volunteering program for Dance for Parkinson's. She also participated in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation service trip where she helped treat disabled students at an elementary school in rural Cusco, Peru. Katie has a diverse range of clinical experiences, having spent time working at Harborview, Swedish Medical Center, Life Care Center of Post Falls, and Movement Systems Physical Therapy. She has worked with individuals of every age and health status, and can meet anyone where they are and help take them to where they want to be.
Katie is currently working to gain her Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification, and is furthering her education in orthopedics and advanced manual therapy. She has special interests in the fields of chronic pain and pelvic health, and in treating conditions of the low back, Sacroiliac Joint, hips, neck, and shoulders. However she recognizes that the body is an interconnected movement system, and it's crucial to treat people holistically and keep the big picture in focus.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Katie can offer personal as well as clinical experience to help get you back outside and back to snowboarding, skiing, or hiking. Katie values using evidence-based interventions and techniques that best utilize time and resources in order to create lasting change in the lives of her clients. Katie's hobbies include snowboarding, cycling, cooking, gardening, watching Husky football, and hiking and traveling the world with her fiancé. Born and raised right here in Kenmore, Katie attended Inglemoor high school (go Viks!). As an active athlete - playing soccer, basketball, softball, cross country, and running track & field - she became very familiar with the processes of injury, pain, and recovery.
Thanks to the influence of so many wonderful PT's along the way, Katie recognized early on that by combining her interest in physiology, movement, and teaching, she could work toward a rewarding career as a Physical Therapist. She is excited to be returning to serve patients from her own hometown as part of the Kenmore team at Lake Washington PT!
