“Since 2010, we have led the medical community to offer patient centered care that has a strong personal touch and yet being evidence based in our approach.”

Lake Washington Physical Therapy is a local business in every sense of the meaning. Ben and Sara Wobker began planning for the opening during a trip to Italy in the fall of 2009. They sat in local coffee shops and with pen and napkin began to sketch out the logistics over a cappucino. The napkin blue-print blossomed into a plan to make a clinic that was different and centered in the heart of Kirkland. The message delivered to Ben from Italian shop owners through conversations was one of a slower work pace, simpler life, and with valuable interactions with people.

In 2016 we felt the need to grow and Matt & Kelli Sato took the bold step of opening our 2nd clinic in the Houghton neighborhood. They poured hours into the new facility and soon saw the same success as the original facility. Being a therapist owned facility gave Matt the ability to offer best care and hire many of the outstanding individuals that helped build the original clinic.

The outcomes for patients and the success was very encouraging and in 2018 we began a joint venture in Wilsonville, OR named Boones Landing Physical Therapy. We proudly partnered with Ben's former students Renee' James & Jason James. The clinic opened in September of 2018. Renee and Jason have contributed in so many ways to the Wilsonville community and we could not be more excited to have participated in this community based clinic.

In Summer of 2019 we opened on the north end of Lake Washington in Kenmore. We were fortunate to partner with master clinical Joe Nance and his family to open this beautiful 4,000 square foot facility. Joe and his team were busy from the start thanks to the strong Kenmore community and physician support.

In 2020 LWPT began discussions with 2 outstanding clinicians who were both looking to leave the fast paced corporate PT world. Joe introduced Ben to Mark Bouma and they began plans to create a LWPT clinic in West Seattle. At the same time Matt introduced Ben and Sara to Shawn Brenneman who had his eyes on living and working in Redmond. COVID-19 put a stall on all these plans but as we emerged from the terrible pandemic winter of 2020 plans moved forward. Shawn and his team will begin treatment in Redmond in April 202. Shawn and his team cover Ben’s alma mater Redmond High School and participate in the Cross-Fire soccer tournament coverage.

Laura and Mark opened their doors in West Seattle in summer 2021. They currently are fixtures of the community covering local charity events, hosting small businesses in the space, and a significant involvement in the local chamber of commerce.

In 2022 we began offering Home Visits and also performance training. As this became increasingly popular we inked an agreement with Arena Sports in Redmond. Heidi Biehl headed up this effort and has led to our performance facility now nestled in Totem Lake inside the Natural Ball Player. This is a joint effort by both Heidi and Jordan Bork. They split time both on the 70,000 square feet of the practice facility as well as inside the private suite which is where much of the treatment and evaluations take place.

“Lake Washington Physical Therapy has seen over 200,000 patient visits since 2010. We make sure that each patient gets the time and attention needed to achieve their goals.”
