Devin grew up nearby in Redmond, WA where he attended RHS as a standout Cross Country and Track & Field athlete. He participated in lots of outdoor activities growing up including skiing, backpacking, and camping all over the Pacific Northwest. Devin went on to complete his undergraduate degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Portland while competing for the Pilots in Cross Country and Track & Field all four years of school. During his time as Portland Pilot he lowered his PR’s in the 1500m, 5k, 10k, and half marathon and took advantage of running all the amazing trails in Forest Park.
Devin’s first experience with LWPT began as an injured patient in high school rehabbing from running-related injuries which sparked his interest in Physical Therapy. Later, Devin observed multiple clinicians at the Downtown Kirkland LWPT location during his undergraduate degree as a job shadow earning hours for graduate school. Upon graduation from UP he worked as a PT Aide at LWPT Houghton and as a Cross Country coach at RHS in the fall while applying and interviewing for DPT programs across the country.
After working as an aide at LWPT, Devin headed down to Austin, TX to complete his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences where he continued to run and race longer distances in his free time. Throughout his clinical internships he had the opportunity to work with all kinds of athletes including runners, cyclists, skiers, and rock climbers. His clinical rotations included working at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Dallas, TX helping patients with various neurologic dysfunctions and diagnoses. Additionally, he completed outpatient orthopedic rotations in Houston, TX and in Arvada, CO with a focus on sports medicine and rehabilitation. He graduated with High Honors from USAHS along with his certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA.
Upon completion of his DPT program Devin returned home to his roots to coach his high school Cross Country team at RHS once again and reconnect with LWPT. In his free time Devin enjoys running at the Watershed Preserve, backpacking through the North Cascades, rock climbing, and spending time with his family.
