Mylan is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist who has been practicing in the Seattle area since 2012. Growing up, she played an array of musical instruments and participated in everything from basketball, ice skating, soccer, volleyball and tae kwon do. Her activity level came to an abrupt halt when she injured her knee playing volleyball her sophomore year of high school causing her to undergo surgery followed by many months of rehabilitation. Her challenging journey back to health changed her perspective on how the human body is able to repair itself. She understands the disappointment when your body fails you, the frustration that can occur during the healing process, and the unbelievable sense of achievement that transpires when you return to the things you love.

Mylan attended the University of Washington for undergrad and pursued her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She continued to advance her learning post graduation by earning her Manual Therapy Certification (MTC) through the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. This specialty area includes advanced training of hands-on techniques used to improve the quality and quantity of motion of the spinal segments, extremities, and soft tissue. Mylan has also earned her Certification in Applied Functional Science (CAFS) through the Gray Institute and has taken a number of courses through the Postural Restoration Institution (PRI), which has deepened her understanding of assessment and treatment of postural imbalances and movement dysfunctions. She became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2017.

Mylan has a special interest in treating conditions of the spine, pelvis/hip/knee, and shoulder. However she identifies the body as an integrated movement system and understands how the mental, emotional, social and environmental aspects can affect our freedom in movement. She treats the body as a mechanical chain and uses an eclectic and holistic treatment approach. This includes pain science education, joint and soft tissue mobilization, diaphragm breathing, core and peripheral stabilization, neuro-reeducation techniques and functional exercise. She has experience treating individuals of all ages, physical levels and impairments - From cricket, volleyball and soccer players to engineers, artists, moms and musicians...anyone who wants to stay active in what they love! Mylan enjoys working with people who may be unsure of how to start moving and want to gain a sense of freedom in their bodies again. She places a strong emphasis on educating her clients on the root cause of their symptoms so they are empowered to reduce and prevent injury through use of functional tools, find their hidden potential and achieve long-term success in the things they value.

Mylan enjoys experiencing adventurous outdoor activities, learning about cultures and capturing them through photography and videography, and indulging in foods on her travels. She tries to take advantage of the vast music, art, film and theater scene Seattle has to offer. She likes hiking, yoga, volleyball, dancing to a good throwback song, playing musical instruments, and spending quality time with friends, family and her puggle Chunky.
