April earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology in 2013 from the University of Washington. After graduation she worked as a physical therapy aide for 1.5 years and gathered experience working in the PT field. In May 2015, she flew across the country to pursue her doctorate at the New York Institute of Technology on Long Island. In 2018, she graduated magna cum lade with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

While attending graduate school April worked in a variety of different clinic settings such as Lenox hill hospital (Cardiac ICU), Suffolk Physical Therapy and Gerwin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. April also provided care to an elder gentleman with Parkinson’s and volunteered at the NYC marathon medical tent assisting injured runners.

April has a special interest in treating post-operative diagnoses such as ACL reconstruction, and enjoys treating conditions involving the shoulders, low back, and knees. April also enjoys helping people with balance and fall prevention. Her treatment style involves manual therapy along with exercises catered to the specific needs of the patient. April values patient education especially when it comes to body mechanics, form correction, and understanding the purpose of the exercise.

Physical therapy is not only April’s career of choice but translates into her lifestyle. April has experienced physical therapy firsthand, as it has helped her recover after several soccer related knee injuries. This has allowed her to relate with many of her patients and understand what it is like to have the freedom of movement taken away.

April was born and raised in West Seattle and loves working in her hometown! In her spare time, April enjoys spending time with her fiancé and her golden retriever, Bodhi. She loves spending time outdoors, hiking, cross country-skiing and snowmobiling.
